HTAC INVOLVEMENT PROGRAMS

Overview

Many individuals who learn about Help the Afghan Children through our website, other publications, media, and phone calls express a deep, personal interest in getting involved with our work.

These individuals represent people, all of whom have special talents and expertise, but share a common  passion and commitment to improving children's lives through education.

That is why we have developed several unique Involvement Programs, each one designed to support a specific HTAC objective while offering people like you an invaluable and fulfilling opportunity to help.

HTAC Outreach Ambassador

Become an Outreach Ambassador in your local community by helping to raise awareness of our work.  Outreach Ambassadors receive a general orientation to the organization, are provided with basic HTAC materials (brochures, latest newsletters, etc.), and speak at schools, religious centers, rotaries, and other community organizations.  Outreach Ambassadors also have opportunities to work with our staff in planning, and organizing local outreach events and write articles about HTAC's work for local community papers.

HTAC School Exchange Facilitator

To support our Cultural Exchange program, our School Exchange Facilitators are teachers, principals, PTA officials, or friends of local USA schools.  Working with an HTAC liaison, Facilitators nominate their school as a potential cultural exchange partner with one of our 'sister' schools in Afghanistan.  Facilitators have opportunities to collaborate in the development of a learning project between US and Afghan students and teachers.

HTAC Community Fundraiser

HTAC depends heavily on cultivating and expanding our individual donor base to provide the financial support needed to continue our educational programs and services.  Our Community Fundraisers receive HTAC materials, a DVD film of our work, and host fundraisers (in their home or local community center).  Depending on logistics and availability, arrangements can sometimes be made for an HTAC staff member to attend these events.

HTAC Supporters in Action

HTAC is proud of the many individuals, groups, and organizations that have supported our work through community outreach, fundraisers, and other support. Here are just a few.

W Washington Univ - Kite photo

Students at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington organized a kite flying event and fundraiser at their campus. The event was to celebrate Afghanistan¡¯s proud tradition of kite flying while bringing greater awareness of HTAC¡¯s work to students and the general public.

Help the Afghan Children Associsation

The Afghan Student Association at the University of Toronto in Mississauga selected HTAC as their charity of choice, and held a fundraising event where they served Afghan food and showed slides and films about Afghanistan. Their successful effort raised money to support HTAC¡¯s ¡°Read Afghanistan¡± literacy program.

HTAC FILM SCREENING & FUNDRAISER
Right In Your Own Home!

Help the Afghan Children film screening & fundraiser

Would you like to be involved in a fun and informative way to not only bring friends and family together, but to help support HTAC's work in providing quality education to the children of Afghanistan?
If so, HTAC is looking for interested supporters to hold a "fundraiser screening" of a new short film “Path to Brightness" -17 Minutes- which gives a wonderful overview of HTAC's projects and programs in Afghanistan.
By inviting family, friends, neighbors, and anyone you feel would be interested in learning about our efforts to restore Afghanistan's devastated educational system, HTAC hopes to reach out to more and more people who want to become active in supporting education for Afghanistan's children.
